The packs' primary components are the modules, often connected electrically in series and constructed by a set of cells. These cells can either be cylindrical, prismatic or pouch as illustrated in Figure 6. (4) The electrolyte used in the battery packs varies depending on what kind of cell that is employed.
The battery pack is disassembled up to module or cell level, the components are tested to assess the degradation state and replaced, if compromised, to restore the performance of the pack.
The battery management box is its own module for the reason that it is separated from the battery modules and the same box content can be used regardless which truck. It is attached mechanically with one screw variant as well as using one standardized charge contact to facilitate service of the pack.
